TaxiCall Feature List

TaxiCall has many features which have been designed to meet the needs of taxi drivers, but if you think that there is still something missing then call us on 0800 036 8750 and tell us about it.

Calls are distributed fairly

Calls are distributed to drivers by our automatic system, which cannot favour any driver over the others. Calls are offered to the drivers that are currently logged in, going first to those whose last call was longest ago.

Login and logout calls are free

It's free for drivers to log in and out of the service. We supply you with two numbers, one for logging in and one for logging out. When you dial one of these numbers from your registered mobile, the service recognises your number and logs you in or out accordingly, but without answering the call so there is no charge on your mobile bill.

Drivers can decline calls

If a driver gets a call when he is unable to take a job, he can decline it without speaking to the customer, and the call will automatically go through to the next available driver.

No special equipment is required

TaxiCall works with any mobile phone. Of course, as a professional driver you know that to comply with the law you must have a hands-free kit to take calls while driving.

All calls are logged

A comprehensive log of all the calls to your TaxiCall number is available on your service web page. This is a valuable tool for monitoring the performance of your circuit, addressing customer complaints, and ensuring good service.

Repeat calls go to the same driver

If a customer calls again within a set period (by default 30 minutes, but this can be changed) then the service recognises the number and puts the call through to the same driver as before, on the assumption that the customer wishes to cancel or re-schedule a pick up. For local clubs and restaurants that may genuinely need to order several taxis in quick succession, there is a Repeat Call Exception list, and calls from number on that list will always be put through to the next available driver.

Unwanted customers can be barred

If you enter the number of an unwanted customer in your Barred Numbers list, then when they call they will always hear a recorded message: “I'm sorry but there are no drivers available.”

Helps you look after regular customers

When a customer calls, the caller's number is displayed on the driver's phone, so by entering your regulars' numbers in your address book you can greet them by name when they call. Customers really like it!

Emergency message service

As a lone worker, a taxi driver can be vulnerable. TaxiCall's Panic Call feature instantly relays an emergency message to all the other drivers on the circuit.

Automatic callback

A one touch speed dial automatically routes a call back to your last customer, which is helpful for pick ups. You could do it by scrolling through your Call Register to find the number and dialling it yourself, but our system is quicker, and the customer sees your TaxiCall number on his display instead of your mobile number.

We supply local numbers, including memorable and golden ones

Our standard service includes a local number for your area which you can advertise to your customers. Callers to that number hear it ringing just like a normal phone call to a local number, and will be charged for a local call.  You can also choose a golden number - contacts us for prices and availability in your area.

We can also supply 0800 Freephone numbers, which may be preferred in some cases.  The setup cost for these is usually included in the setup for your TaxiCall account, but there is an additional charge (see the Price List) for calls because you are now paying for your customers' part of the calls as well.

You can use your own number if you have one already established in your area.  If this is the case then we supply you with an 0800 number to which you divert your calls.

Additional Numbers

Circuits sometimes need need an additional number for customers to call in on, for instance an 0800 number that can be used from payphones, or a local number for another area code that falls within their licence disctrict.  We are happy to supply additional numbers of all kinds - call us to discuss your requirements.

Call Recording

As an optional extra service, calls on your circuit can automatically be recorded to help you monitor service quality and to resolve disputes.  The recordings are held securely with your on-line Call Log, where you can listen to them at a moment's notice.  You can choose for the recordings to be held for 7 days on-line only, or to be held for 30 days then sent to you on a CD as a permanent record.  There is an additional charge for Call Recording - see the Price List for details.
